Last night I went and threw a coin into the Fontana di Trevi to ensure my return to Roma, saw the Spanish Steps and the Roman Forum.

How tourist-y is that?! Lonely Planet would be so proud!!

Yesterday I met a girl at the hostel who had travelled around NZ for three months. She mentioned how nice the Wellington YHA was and I agreed as I’d stayed there. She asked if I’d stayed in any other hostels around NZ…yes I have…I stayed in one in Lake Taupo… I thought hard and realised that yes I had stayed in one there, Rainbow something… Turns out she’s stayed there too and loved it just like I did!! Funny funny.

The other day a guy came in and started speaking in Italian. I interrupted and said that I only speak a little Italian, could he please speak slower…he seemed to understand my statements and then started talking even faster than before! Was he just messing with me?!

I also got a “lesson” in Italian two days ago…Sayed said, “Ciao” as he was leaving…then he asked me what is “ciao” and I thought he was asking another question (his Italian ain’t too hot either)…he said, “Ciao means bye (in English). You only speak a little little bit of Italian (in Italian).” and I thought to myself wtf?! Who DOESN’T know what “ciao” means?! How retarded do you think I am?! How does he think I survive at my other place of work where no one speaks a word of English?

Okay…rant over…but he seriously may as well have pat me on the head it was that patronising!

Last night I picked up a €4 bottle of a Baileys knock off and a litre of milk and settled down for game show in the common room. Afterwards me, Mads and Tavo went to another Danish guys place in this cool neighbourhood. It was cool during the daytime but was probably a place to avoid at night time!

We ended up at Shilling again and this time they were playing RnB which was cool. No one was really into the music so we went onto the beach instead and saw a girl who we thought wasn’t wearing any bottoms. Turns out she was wearing skin coloured pants. Note to self: keep wearing black so as to not scare the bejesus out of onlookers!

We tried to regroup but it didn’t quite work. Me, Sara and Friedes ended up together, hungry as usual! Then it was a late night/early morning panino, more beers for the others and a wait for the bus/train. We really are perfecting the huddling together like homeless people thing!

Back to the hostel to find the door is “fixed” and to find that the buzzer emitted a long buzzing sound when pushed…oops…
A few hours sleep and I was good to go for work!
